Recent research details the infrastructure of SystemBC, a botnet focused on compromising servers to generate substantial proxy traffic for malicious purposes. This botnet is closely linked to a criminal proxy service that is utilized by ransomware groups for activities like spreading malware and stealing data. Despite being easily detected, the botnet’s high traffic volume allows for widespread attacks exploiting system weaknesses.
