VMScape is a new attack that bypasses virtualization security measures on AMD and Intel CPUs to leak data from virtual machines and hypervisors. It exploits shared CPU structures to exfiltrate secrets, even without compromising the host system, at a rate of 32 bytes per second. Linux kernel patches with an Indirect Branch Prediction Barrier (IBPB) effectively mitigate this vulnerability.
